ICT and Bangladesh

Our world is rapidly marching toward a knowledge society. The United Nation has taken positive steps to include the developing countries in the transformation towards knowledge based society through WSIS. Unfortunately Bangladesh has remained a bystander in WSIS. The government and the nation had great expectations after the creation of the Ministry of Science and ICT in harnessing the potentials of ICT. The ministry has become the breeding ground of corruption. They have devoured the research grant and grabbed all training and overseas seminars offered to the scientists working in the organizations under this ministry. Recently a lady assistant secretary who is just a BA pass graduate has gone to Korea for training on Nuclear Reactor Safety.
